SELECTED MAKER

Brier, Amanda
Ceramics

Amanda was born in Portsmouth in 1978, she studied Art and Design for three years before moving to Cornwall in 1997 to start a degree in Studio Ceramics at Falmouth College of Arts.

After graduating in June 2000 she set up a business with help from the Prince's Trust to purchase a pottery wheel. In October 2000 she started work at The Leach Pottery in St.lves, Cornwall, and for five years Amanda worked along side Trevor Corser and Joanna Wason.

Working at The Leach Pottery was the most inspiring and valued start to Amandas' career as a studio potter. Her pots are made using stoneware and porcelain and fired in a gas kiln. She makes mainly vases, bowls, and jugs. She also enjoys hand painting tiles.
