Until recently Rick has been based in London with a studio at the Chocolate Factory, Hackney. He now lives in Penzance with a shared workspace at Gaolyard Studios, St Ives.
Rick trained at the University of Westminster, Harrow (1993 – 96). Other fields of work have included silver jewellery making, antique restoration, therapeutic massage and garden design.
Presently, Rick makes vases and bowls in stoneware clay using black and white glazes that have a satin smooth finish. He produces a similar range of work from white earthenware clay but to these he applies brightly coloured clay slips under shiny glaze.
