Karen, a recent graduate of Falmouth College of Arts has developed two distinct ranges of work. Working mainly in porcelain because of its ‘luscious translucency’ she created window hangings, light boxes, vases and flowers, which all rely on light to highlight their unique qualities. Her smoke-fired pieces are also in porcelain and the magical ‘earthy’ patterns adorn pendants, plates, bowls and wall hangings.

Karen’s work is inspired by patterns found in the natural world, whether a cell structure or rock formation and also a need to look before the surface and discover what lies beneath.
