After training at Loughborough College of Art, Ann lived and worked in the West Indies for two years where she continued to produce paintings and textile works. She moved to Cornwall in 1973 and since 1978 has been a member of Cornwall Crafts.
Since childhood she has been fascinated by the beauty of nature and the visual art of gardens, Cornwall has to be one of the best places in the world to appreciate natures handiwork.
Her finished work is small, usually no more than four or five inches across and is made using her own handmade silk paper, a variety of threads, small pieces of silk fabric, net and scrim. She adds tiny stitches and beads to create a very personal impression of the fascinating mix of colours and textures to be found in a garden.
