I design and cut letters in stone, I also do low relief carving and sculpture.I have been doing this for over 20 years from my studio at home on the north Cornish coast.
I love working with stone and I have always had a keen interest in calligraphy so it is very satisfying to be able to combine the two.
I carve memorials, commemorative plaques, sundials, house names, paperweights, standing stones and sculpture.
My work is mostly commissioned, I work closely with clients and do everything I can to meet all their requirements, I provide sketches and full scale working drawings.
I use slate for most of my work as it is very durable, weatherproof and its fine grain makes it the perfect choice for lettercutting.
I am a keen scuba diver and beachcomber;much of my sculptural work is influenced by the life I see on the shore and underwater.
