Glass
I grew up in the heart of rural Sussex and moved to Cornwall with my husband in 1969. I graduated from Falmouth College of Art and Design with a B.A. (Hons) Fine Art in 1999.
My dance with glass began in my studio one morning in 1997. I was astonished by the light reflected from the edges of a stack of sheet glass waiting to be made into boxes. That revelation led me to research, discover and train and has resulted in a passion for the versatility of a material that in its everyday clothes, is an integral part of our daily lives.
The strong colour and geometric design that I work with are still hugely influenced by the seductive experience of four months spent in Morocco in 02/03.
In combination with this, the inspiration for my work stems from my love of nature and the outdoor life. Annual camping trips on the Scilly Isles, regular travel adventures and a passion for collecting objects, fragments, remnants that suggest their own history.
My practice covers One-off Exhibition Pieces, Commissions and Functional Objects that work alone or combine to form related groups and sets.
Special Orders and Commissions accepted (please see link).
