My sculpture is inspired by my connection to the natural world. I concentrate mainly on animal forms influenced by the power, elegance and grace they hold within their bodies, my work is stylised to emphasize these qualities. The Cornish landscape I live in is also an influence, its great outcrops of granite suggesting shape and form.

I interpret a moment of movement or contemplation, of spiritual essence and physical presence. In motion or stillness, a look or gesture will speak to me and compel me to capture that moment.

Mostly I try to find stillness in my work, somewhere that connects the earth and the ethereal - a kind of meditation. I find animals communicate this to me and there forms coiue most fireely.
