In 1978 aided by a grant from the Crafts Council, the Association opened its first permanent gallery in the Georgian stable block on the beautiful Trelowarren estate. Trelowarren gallery remains the largest dedicated exhibition space with an annual programme of craft exhibitions that showcase the best of member’s work, as well as exhibitions of eminent makers from other parts of the country.
A small shop area allows member's work to be shown all year round; whilst the exhibition space not only holds displays of the best of member's work, but at least twice yearly exhibits work by eminent craftspeople from other parts of the country.
On this historic estate you will also find a bistro serving excellent food and drinks throughout the day, a pottery and weaving studio, the countryside centre telling you all about the geological uniqueness of the Lizard Peninsula and quiet extensive walks through the estate woodland and gardens in restoration. Also a fogou - an iron age series of chambers built underground, assumed for storage purposes.
From Helston take the A3083 Lizard road for 2 miles and turn left at the first roundabout. Follow the St Keverne road for about 2 miles. You will see the Trelowarren turn sign-posted on your left.
